Pony Trekking was started by the Ormiston Family, with their renowned stud of Highland Ponies, at the Balavil Arms Hotel in Newtonmore, with the assistance of the Scottish Council for Physical Recreation (now Sportscotland) in 1952, and it is still going strong all over the UK today.
Programme of Events
11:00 am – Preparation at Highland Horse Fun, Coffee and Cake.
12:00 midday – Horse Cavalcade Parade along the High Street with Riders, Carriages, VIP Cars and Floats – all welcome to take part. 12:45 pm – Soup and Sandwich Lunch, meet and greet, for everyone. 2:00 pm – Equestrian Tourism Conference 2017
6:00 pm till late – Cowboy Ceilidh with Live Music, Food, BYOB
